My Depression Lives Here

My depression lives here;
It eats away at my inner walls;
It climbs out sometimes,
And flees to freedom,
When it gets scared of this place-
When my mind numbs itself-
But it always returns
And I always try to fight it;
At least I can always hide it
Beneath the tired smiles,
And the false sense of hope
That expires every evening,
When I feel myself being eaten again;
